City of Ames Flag Design: Fields of Green and Gold

Project Description:

In this project, I created a flag for the City of Ames, following the principles of vexillology which mandate that a flag should be simple, easy to remember, and only use up to three colors. After creating numerous different variations of flags following my ideas and showcasing meaning that relate to the population of Ames, I was then tasked with making applications of the design through various merchandise creations that hint back to the original flag outline. The application of my flag design to real-world merchandise ideas showcases my ability to think creatively, while also creating a design that's easily recognizable and pleasing to the eye.
